System 72 95 999 00 is with rotor Rotor 1.45kg
For better starting properties of the Yamaha and on explicitly customers' request we have changed the rotor (now: 1.4 kg/ 112mm diameter / 180W - previously: 0.7kg / 103mm diameter / 100W).  To the older version (system 70 95 999 00) with the lighter and smaller rotor.

Magnet based generator with integrated solid state ignition. replaces all original generator and ignition parts. Updates your system to 12V/180W DC. There is no need for changes on engine casing. The system is technically capable of running without battery.

  • more light output (use bulb 40/45W)
  • very stable ignition with solid spark
  • better starting, better fuel burning
  • no trouble anymore with setting points or the old electronic ignition (depending on what system you had)
  • no wear anymore on collector, points and govenor
NOTE: Installation of the new system does NOT make instructions from Yamaha on how to start the bike without violent kickbacks obsolete. The new ignition does not eliminate this inherent problem. For kickback issue imperatively read this info here

Not for engines with pistons doing 10:1 compression!


Also know that the new ignition coil does not directly fit  on the stock coil frame.  Find explanation here. We are quite willing however to produce and add some adapter piece, but presently lack dimensions. all info is welcome
