Jawa 255 A

engine  number starts with 255
1  Cylinder 65x75 mm

255A had 2 coils/2plugs and a switch to change between them

Army number 255 equals Jawa 553 engine (single cylinder 250 cc from 1956 approx.)

use system 35461799 with either single or twin coil.

cylinder head has two holes for spark plugs but usually only one is ignited. However if one wants a little more effect one can ignit both spark plugs simulataneously by using out twin coil.

please specify which coil you want at point of order

base diameter of system is 110mm

Jawa 355 & 356 A

engine number starts with 554
2 cylinder 58x65, 
parallel stroke

The 355A had 3 coils and a switch to get the third one in and a free non connected wire to put on the plug that got

Army numbers 355 and 356 (same engine) equals Jawa 554, parallell twin 350 cc engine.

use system 354 61 799 always with twin coil

base diameter of system is 97mm

Jawa 257 A

engine number starts with 579
1 cylinder 65x75 mm
2 spark plugs.

Army number 257A equals Jawa 579/03 or 579/05 (same), a 250 cc single from 1964.

use system 579 05 799 with either single or  twin coil.

Monark type 962" or "MC 356 A

The engine, is a JAWA S-554

MONARK-JAWA Type 926 ( MC 356 A ) with a JAWA 554 engine, same as in the 355 A Army bike.

story goes, the army, had some engines for spare, and ordered a bike to fit them from Monark factories. Only about 1000 units were made.
